At Dress A Girl KC Metro, we are making “God’s best dress,” and we carefully screen every dress before it is sent.
The dress each girl receives maybe the ONLY dress they EVER have. We want it to be a high-quality product in which they feel dignified and beautiful. Quality over Quantity.
Some of these dresses will go to some of the poorest-of-the-poor, and the poor deserve nice things with good workmanship, not just leftovers or hand-me-downs. “The Lord hears the cry of the poor,” we want to honor Him by honoring them.
We carefully sew 2 pockets onto each dress with a Dress a Girl label identifying that the little girl is being taken care of by an outside organization.
We have patterns and instructions on our Facebook page, Dress a Girl KC Metro. We also provide dress kits that include everything necessary to make a dress. You can bring in a completed dress and pick up a kit to sew at home.
Dresses are cotton or a cotton blend to hold up under rough washing conditions. Many times, they are washed on rocks in rivers or ponds. They have no way to repair clothing.
